I was very happy with the service and quality work. Was able to find and fix a leaky gas line that other contractors could not. Was very professional on time and well priced. Would recommend to anyone in a heart beat. Thank you.

John Wood Water Heaters We Carry

With dozens of water heater models to choose from, it’s best to get expert advice to ensure your needs are met. All tanks meet or exceed NRCan standards.

Atmospheric Water Heaters

Atmospheric vent hot water tanks use the natural air pressure difference between the inside of your home and the outdoors to draw out the exhaust gasses. They are the quietest and most common models available.

  • EnergyStar qualified models available. Energy factors range between 0.56 – 0.67.
  • 30 – 75 gallon sizes available.
  • Gas input of 35,500 – 75,100 BTU per hour.
  • Glass-lined tanks with superior corrosion resistance available.
  • Self-cleaning feature: the Turbulator dip tube reduces sediment buildup at the bottom of the tank.
  • The Flame Guard system traps burning gasses and keeps them safely contained until they burn themselves out.
  • Pilot light can be lit without matches.
  • LED indicator gas valve control panel.
  • 6-year limited tank warranty and 6-year limited parts warranty.

Power Vent Water Heaters

Power vent water heaters use an electric blower to push the combustion gasses outside. There’s a bit more noise from the motor, but if your water heater is in your basement you shouldn’t notice it.

  • EnergyStar qualified models available, with a 0.70 EF, the best energy efficiency available in a hot water tank (except 60 and 75 gallon model).
  • 40 – 75 gallon capacity tanks available.
  • Gas input of 40,000 – 76,000 BTU per hour.
  • Safety system shuts down unit when flammable vapours are sensed and prevents vapours from entering the combustion chamber before shut down.
  • Advanced self-diagnostics.
  • Great choice as a replacement hot water tank, and many venting configurations are possible.
  • 8-year limited tank warranty and 6-year limited parts warranty.

In many homes, gas vents from the basement are boxed in and take up space, often in the kitchen. If both the furnace and water heater are power vented, the lines are much smaller and that space can be reclaimed.

Direct Vent Water Heaters

With direct venting, your water heater is completely sealed off from your home’s air supply. Air is piped in and the combustion gasses are piped out.

  • Unique balanced flue design.
  • Energy factor from 0.61 – 0.63.
  • Tank sizes range from 40 – 50 gallons.
  • Gas input ranges from 38,000 – 47,000 BTU/h.
  • Pilot light LED indicator allows you to easily confirm lit state.
  • Flame Safe technology.
  • No external power supply required.
  • 8-year limited tank warranty and 6-year limited parts warranty.

Power Direct Vent Water Heaters

These combine the features of both power and direct venting.

  • EnergyStar qualified with Energy Factor ratings from 0.70 – 0.71 (except 75 gallon model).
  • Water capacity ranges from 40 – 75 gallons.
  • Gas input from 40,000 – 76,000 BTU/h.
  • Completely sealed combustion chamber means there’s no need for a flame sensor.
  • Very quiet blower motor.
  • 8-year limited tank warranty and 6-year limited parts warranty.
