Our Midea AC Models
Midea builds two central air conditioner series for North American homes, and the choice between them comes down to how quiet you want the unit and how much you want to spend up front.
Both cover 1.5 to 5 tons, so there’s a size for a bungalow in Scarborough and for a four-bedroom in Mississauga. We’ll confirm the best option for your home after we measure.
Midea M152A Series
This is the quieter version, and the one we recommend for most homes in the GTA.
The M152A reaches up to 15.2 SEER2 and uses an ECM fan motor in every size, from 1.5 ton straight through to 5 ton. ECM motors ramp up and down rather than slamming on at full speed, which is why the 5-ton M152A produces 77 dB of sound power where the equivalent M134A produces 81.

Midea M134A Series
This is the value option, and a great choice when budget is the deciding factor.
The M134A is rated at 13.4 SEER2 and covers the same 1.5- to 5-ton range. Below 3 tons, it’s built much like its bigger sibling, but from 3.5 tons up, it switches to a PSC fan motor, which is simpler and cheaper but runs at a single speed, so the larger sizes are noticeably louder.
