Boilers

Dr HVAC provides expert installation, repair and yearly maintenance for all brands of natural gas and propane boilers.

New Boilers and Combi Boilers to Heat Your Home

If you own an older home fitted with radiators, we can provide you with a more efficient boiler that will save you money on energy.

Advantages

  • Space saving. A combi boiler can heat both the air in your home and your hot water supply. Wall mounted units free up space in your basement or utility area.
  • Energy efficient. Old atmospheric boilers from a few years ago often get 50% – 60% energy efficiency. New modulating condensing (or mod con) boilers can get up to 97% efficiency.

I was very happy with the service and quality work. Was able to find and fix a leaky gas line that other contractors could not. Was very professional on time and well priced. Would recommend to anyone in a heart beat. Thank you.

How Will a New Boiler Help Me Save?

Condensing

Condensing technology recovers most of the heat that would normally be lost from the waste gasses. These waste gasses travel through a heat exchanger, and the captured heat is used to pre-warm the cool water returning from your radiators. As a result, your boiler doesn’t have to work as hard to heat your water.

Modulating

An ordinary boiler has just two heating settings: on or off. That means your boiler is working at top speed or not at all. This works, but isn’t as efficient as it could be. If your incoming water is slightly warmer (for example, if it’s been warmed a bit already with a condensing system), you don’t need as much heat to get it to the right temperature. A modulating boiler can detect this and reduce its fuel use.

Modern modulating boilers have five settings, and can get up to 20% more efficiency.

Boilers Give You a World of Comfort and Convenience

In-Floor or Radiant Heating Systems

Most floors are naturally colder, as heat rises. This can be uncomfortable, as our bodies prefer warmer feet and cooler air near our heads. Heated floors are more pleasant, especially in tiled rooms, but you can also use radiant systems to heat the air in your home. One of the advantages is that In-floor or radiant heat isn’t drying like the heat from a furnace.

If you’re planning a kitchen or bathroom renovation, call Dr HVAC to have in-floor heating installed. We’ll install a boiler and piping in your subfloor before your contractor adds your tile or hardwood floor on top.

Snow Melt Systems for Driveways and Walkways

Never lift a snow shovel again!

If you’re having difficulty keeping your driveway, patio or walkway free of snow, we can install a snow melt system to keep it clear. Consisting of a boiler and a pattern of water-filled pipes, a snow melt system is basically like in-floor heating you would get under a tile floor.

Custom Heating Applications

If you want to heat any combination of air and water in your home or backyard, we can design a safe, efficient system for you. Imagine:

  • A backyard hot tub and a heated patio, all powered by the same system.
  • A heated towel rack in your bathroom.
  • A heated stair rail that is kinder to the hands of an arthritis sufferer.

The possibilities are almost endless, so give us a call and tell us what you’d like to warm up.
